The Smithsonian’s National Museum of the American Indian is located on the National Mall in Washington, D.C., between the Smithsonian’s National Air and Space Museum and the U.S. Capitol Building. The National Museum of  the American Indian is devoted to the collection, preservation, and presentation of the culture of the indigenous populations of the Western Hemisphere. The museum’s collection, comprising 4 million catalogued items, includes ceramics, masks, dolls, carvings, textiles, feather work, beadwork, and jewelry.
